Use the free Christmas ornament SVGs to create your own ornaments or use them to make DIY kits to give away to family, students, and friends.

Interested in selling the kits for a profit? All you need to do is buy a commercial license for a small additional cost of $5.

Once you’ve purchased your license, you can sell physical DIY Christmas ornament kits to be painted by others or you can sell the completed ornaments that you have painted and assembled yourself. You just can’t sell or distribute the digital files in any way.

Beginner & More Advanced Options Included

I have included both a beginner version and a more advanced version of the free ornaments. You can choose the easier, single layer design or you can choose the layered ornament version depending on your skill level and also the desired look for your ornaments.

If you’re working with children, the layered ornaments believe it or not can be easier because the children don’t have to stress about coloring inside of the lines. This makes it a great activity for even toddlers to get involved in.

In addition, you can pick and choose how much layering you’d like. My son wanted his snowman to only have a 3D hat so his eyes, mouth and nose were just scored on. It’s up to you how layered and detailed you want to get.

Here is an example of what the single layer design looks like compared to the layered design.

What do the Completed Ornaments Look Like?

Here is a sample of the free ornament SVGs you will receive. I have included an image of each design and a completed example of each. In addition to these, you will also get options for the single layer designed and girl versions of the reindeer and gingerbread man.

This is an example of each of the layered ornaments can look like when cut and made. You’ll notice that the snowman’s face is scored rather than layered because that is what my son chose. If I were to do this again, I would probably leave Santa’s eyes as scored only because they were so small.

  4. Cut the File.
  5. Clean Up the Ornament: Sand the edges if necessary and use a baby wipe to clean off any soot (this is important for laser users).
  6. Paint: If desired, paint the piecesLet the paint dry before assembly.
  7. Assemble: Remove the 3M backing or apply glue to attach layered pieces.
  8. Attach the Ribbon: Attach the ribbon to the ornament for easy hanging.

Score Lines for Easy Layered Placement

For the SVG designs, you can choose to score the layered elements on the ornament design. This will help make the placement of the individual pieces much easier. But it’s a personal choice.

You may want people to be able to place them however they’d like so that no two ornaments look the same.
