Shopping for the best gifts for a crafter can be surprisingly difficult. We tend to have very specific tools and supplies we love, plus there is a pretty good chance we already have a craft room, closet, cabinet, or entire house full of supplies.
But that definitely doesn't mean we don't want MORE craft supplies.

As someone who has been crafting for years, I decided the easiest way to create this gift guide was to look around my own craft room. Instead of filling this list with random products I've never used, I'm sharing the types of tools, machines, supplies, and organization products I actually own and use.
You'll find everything from inexpensive craft supplies that would make great small gifts to some seriously splurge-worthy craft machines.

Inexpensive Gifts for Crafters
You definitely don't have to spend a lot of money to find a great gift for someone who loves to craft. In fact, sometimes the inexpensive little tools and supplies end up being the things we use the most.

Extra Craft Supplies
It might sound basic, but crafters can ALWAYS use more basic supplies.
Think ribbon, twine, stamps, stickers, cardstock, embellishments, paint, brushes, glue, and all of those other little supplies that somehow disappear when you need them.
If you know what type of crafting they love, choose some new supplies they might not normally buy for themselves. Specialty colors, patterns, textures, or materials are a fun way to let them experiment with something new.
Vinyl
If you're shopping for someone with a Cricut, Silhouette, or other craft cutting machine, vinyl is always a useful gift.
You can stick with basic colors you know they'll use or have more fun with specialty vinyl like glitter, holographic, patterned, metallic, or textured vinyl.
Just make sure you know whether they use adhesive vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, or both.
Transfer Tape
Transfer tape isn't necessarily the most exciting gift, but it's something vinyl crafters use ALL the time.
This would be an especially good item to pair with a few rolls or sheets of adhesive vinyl for an inexpensive gift.
Extra Craft Cutting Mats
Extra cutting mats are another practical gift for someone who owns a xTool M2, Cricut, Silhouette, or similar cutting machine.
You can never have too many mats, especially if you regularly switch between different materials.
Just make sure you purchase mats that are compatible with their particular machine.
Replacement or Specialty Cutting Blades
Blades eventually get dull, which makes replacements a practical gift for someone who uses their machine frequently.
Or instead of buying a standard replacement, look at specialty blades available for their particular machine. A different blade may allow them to work with new materials or try projects they couldn't create before.
Again, machine compatibility is VERY important with this one, so make sure you know exactly which machine they own before purchasing.
Craft Tool Sets
A good set of basic craft tools is useful for almost any type of crafter.
Depending on what they make, look for tools like weeding tools, tweezers, scrapers, spatulas, brayers, scoring tools, precision knives, and more.
Even if they already have some of these tools, extras aren't necessarily a bad thing. Somehow the one tool I need is never where I left it.
Vinyl Scrap Collector
This is one of those funny little inexpensive crafting gadgets that you don't realize you need until you have one.
A vinyl scrap collector attaches or suctions to your work surface and gives you somewhere to put all of those tiny pieces of vinyl while you're weeding a design.
It's inexpensive, small, and would be a great addition to a larger vinyl-themed gift.
Good Craft and fabric Scissors
Crafters can never have too many pairs of scissors.
And once you start crafting regularly, you quickly realize that not all scissors serve the same purpose. These are my favorite basic craft scissors for cutting paper and such.
Fabric scissors, precision scissors, non-stick scissors, heavy-duty scissors, and everyday craft scissors can all have a place in a craft room.
Just make sure nobody in the house decides the expensive fabric scissors should suddenly become the household scissors.
Craft Blanks
Sometimes the best gift for a crafter is simply giving them something new to make.
Tote bags, shirts, signs, mugs, tumblers, keychains, acrylic blanks, wood blanks, jewelry blanks, and other unfinished items can all be turned into completely personalized projects.

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
A hot glue gun is one of those basic tools that belongs in almost every craft room.
They're useful for home decor, wreaths, floral projects, seasonal crafts, kids' crafts, and so much more.
If they already have a glue gun they love, consider gifting accessories instead. A silicone mat, finger protectors, specialty glue sticks, or simply a giant supply of regular glue sticks would all be useful.
Because somehow there are NEVER enough glue sticks.

If there's one thing most crafters need more of, it's storage.

A good paper cutter is useful for far more than just scrapbooking.
I own multiple types because different cutters work better for different projects. They can be used for trimming printables, cardstock, photos, planner pages, labels, paper crafts, and so much more.
If your crafter works with paper regularly, a quality paper cutter is something they'll use over and over again.

They're also generally pretty easy to use, so this could be a great gift for a beginner crafter as well as someone who has been crafting for years.
Pre-Made Craft Kit
Instead of buying supplies for the type of crafting someone already does, give them a chance to try something completely new.
Pre-made craft kits are available for everything from clay and embroidery to candle making, painting, crochet, jewelry making, and more.
I love this idea because the recipient gets an experience AND a finished project without having to figure out every single supply they need before they can get started.
Large Craft Storage Drawers or cart
If little organizers aren't going to make a dent in their craft supply collection, it may be time to go bigger.
Large drawer units are great for paper, vinyl, fabric, blanks, tools, paints, adhesives, and other supplies.
This is another gift where clear drawers can be especially helpful. If I can't see my craft supplies, there is a very good chance I will forget I own them and buy them again.

Pegboards are a great way to use vertical space in a craft room while keeping frequently used supplies within reach.

Full-Size Heat Press
For someone who loves making shirts, tote bags, sublimation projects, or other heat transfer crafts, a full-size heat press can be a major upgrade.
A larger press provides more even heat and pressure across a project and makes it much easier to work with larger designs.

A good printer is an underrated craft room tool.

You could also look for one with magnification for someone who frequently works with very small pieces.
Gift Card to Their Favorite Craft Store
I know gift cards sometimes feel like the easy way out, but for a crafter, they can actually be one of the BEST gifts.
Craft supplies can be incredibly specific. We have favorite brands, colors, materials, tools, and sometimes very strong feelings about seemingly identical products.
