Directions for Customizing the Canva Elf on the Shelf Goodbye Letter Template

1. Sign In or Create an Account on Canva: You can create a free account, it does not need to be a pro account.
2. Download the Canva template PDF: Once downloaded, click on the link to the template.
3. Make a Copy of the Template: Once the template opens, you will see a button that says “Use Template” or “Make a copy.” This will add the  template to your Canva account, so you can personalize it without      affecting the original design.
4. Customize the Template, including:
   • Edit Text: Click on any text box to change the text. You can also  modify the font, size, and color if needed. 
   • Add Images: Add images from Canva’s images, or you can upload your own images or choose from Canva’s library.
   • Adjust Layout or Colors: You can change the top layer of the file. The background is not customizable.
   • Save Your Work: Once you’re happy with your design, click the “Download” button at the top-right corner. Select the file format you prefer (e.g., PNG, JPG, PDF) and save it to your computer or device.
5. Print: After downloading, you can print your design at home or send it to be printed at a local print shop.

Do I need to type the Elf Letter or Can I just print a copy and handwrite it?

You can definitely print a copy and hand write your letter. Download and print the file called “EOS Goodbye Letter Print and Handwrite.”

Having Trouble?

Try to download the files from the folder that says “Having Trouble? Try this version!” The font isn’t quite the same but it’s close and it is a standard font on all computers.

Tips for Downloading the Free Files

Once you click that, you will enter the members-only password and click submit.

The page will reload the same image and now when you click the image that says Click to Download the free files, it will open the Google Drive folder containing the free files.
