  • SVG file
  • Silhouette cut file
  • PNG file

How Do you Get the Free Cut Files?

You can get the free download right here or at the bottom of this post.

Can You Use the File to Create Other St. Patrick’s Day Crafts?

Yes! You can use the free files to create any type of St. Patrick’s Day crafts and decor you’d like.

The file would look great on a wood door hanger or as a sign in an entryway or foyer. Here is what it could look like as a sign.

It wouldn’t work so well on a shirt, beer mug, or baby onesie. Grab this simple free lucky svg instead to use on clothing, signs, drink glasses, etc.

What Type of Cutting Machine Can you Use?

You can use any of the major cutting machines on the market – a Cricut machine (like the Cricut Explore, Cricut Maker, or Cricut Joy), a Silhouette machine (Silhouette Cameo or Silhouette portrait), and Brother Scan n Cut.

If are you considering a machine but are unsure which one to choose, check out my post on Cricut vs. Silhouette.

What Type of Cutting Programs Should you Use?

You can use Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio (you do not need the Silhouette Designer Edition – the basic version works, too), Adobe Illustrator, Sure Cuts a Lot, Canvas Workspace, and any other cutting software that can cut SVG or PNG files.

Can I Purchase a St. Patrick’s Day Doormat from You?

No, I do not sell the mat as a physical product. This is only available as a free digital download.

What Materials Do You Need to Make a St. Patrick’s Day Doormat?

You’ll need:

What Tools Do you Need to Make a St. Patrick’s Day Doormat?

  • Craft cutting machine
  • Weeding tool
  • Transfer tape
  • Stencil brushes if using paint

How Do You Make a St. Patrick’s Day Doormat?

  1. Download the cut file based on the type of machine you are using. You can get the free digital files here.
  2. Measure the size of your doormat and determine the size of the design.
  3. Set the design to the correct size in your design software.
  4. Cut out the design on stencil vinyl or 631.
  5. Weed the design.
  6. Apply transfer tape to the design and transfer it to your doormat.
  7. Cover the part of the black lettering.
  8. Spray the word lucky with green Flex Seal (or paint with a paint and stencil brush).
  9. Allow it to dry.
  10. Cover the green lucky portion of the stencil.
  11. Spray the remainder of the design with black Flex Spray (or paint with a paint and stencil brush).
  12. Allow it to dry for 48 hours before using.

*Can I Use Paint Instead of Flexseal?

There are a lot of different types of paint that you can use for DIY doormats. Outdoor Acrylic Paint OR Exterior Latex Paint (samples are GREAT for this). But, in my opinion, the Flex Seal is the best option.

The issue with Flex Seal can be that finding the colors can be difficult. So if you want to use an outdoor acrylic or latex paint, you definitely can. BUT, I suggest sealing it after.

If you are going to use it outside and it won’t be covered by a roof, it’s best to use some sort of UV sealant spray. This is a great option from Amazon. If it will be inside, I would just suggest using any type of clear (non-yellowing) spray.
