What are Easter Basket Tags?
They’ve become popular in recent years. And the answer is simple – they’re just like a name tag for an Easter basket.
Use the Easter Basket Tags in Other Ways!
The Easter tag makes a great gift tag. Or, you could use them as place cards for your Easter celebration.
Another craft idea would be to make DIY kits. You could make wood kits for family and friends or to sell – like creating your own wood blanks. You could cut out the gift tag base and name for the receiver to paint themselves with acrylic paint or markers. A commercial license would allow you the reselling of physical items such as kits.
How Do You Make Easter Basket Name Tags?
For best results, you will need a laser machine or a craft cutting machine like a Cricut machine to make these Easter tags. You could use scissors to hand cut the print and cut version of the files but they may be a bit intricate to cut by hand.
For my example today, I will be sharing with you how to use laser cutters to make 2 Easter basket tags. See the youTube video tutorial below for how I made my tags.
Materials & Tools Needed for Wooden Laser Easter Basket Tags
- Thin wood (like this 1/16in basswood)
- Laser machine
- Free laser cut files
- Adhesive like 3M adhesive sheets or glue
- Acrylic paint or acrylic paint markers (I prefer markers)
- Alcohol to clean the char marks OR masking material to prevent charring
- Ribbon or string

As a small business owner using the commercial use design files, you may only create a physical product with the files. The personal use license is free including making free gifts for family, friends, teachers, etc.
What Do the All of the Different Designs Look Like?
The Easter basket tags are so much fun. Here is an example of each of the Easter Basket name & gift tag designs.
First, we have the Peep-inspired bunny and chick. You can paint them your favorite color of peep. Layer the tag with a wood or acrylic name or simply add an engraved name. You can see examples of both ways below.
Next is this adorable little bunny head with a hairbow or bowtie (depending on how you place it). This is a multi-layer design. My video below shows you how to make two of these name tags.
Then we have this simple bunny tag SVG. It’s a silhouette of a rabbit that can be customized in different ways. You can layer a name on it, engrave it, paint the bunny, etc.
Up next is a set of personalized wooden easter egg basket name tags. Each egg has a unique parts of the design – flowers, stripes, etc. You can choose to layer the names on the eggs with acrylic or wood or you can simply engrave a name on the eggs.
Lastly, is a sweet carrot name tag inspired by the Easter bunny’s favorite snack.
What Size are the Basket Tags?
The file dimensions can be any size you would like. But, I created most of mine approximately 3 1/2 inches tall. The only ones I made larger were the two-layered bunny head files because honestly, I forgot to size them down.
What File Types are Included?
You will get the following file formats for all of the designs in the digital download.
- SVG files
- xTool Creative Space
- Silhouette Studio Files
- PNG Files (transparent background)
- Print and cut ready PNG files
What Specific Program Can You Use with the Files?
You can use any program that supports SVG files. This includes, but is not limited to, software such as xTool Creative Space, Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Adobe Illustrator, and more.
Laser cutter users will want to use the xTool Creative Space (for xTool users) or SVG files.
Silhouette users, I have included a free Silhouette file. You won’t need the Silhouette Designer edition; the basic and free Silhouette software will work with the Silhouette program files.
Cricut users should use the SVG file for best results. While the PNG will work, the easiest way is to use the SVG files.
