Sleep quality truly affects our mental health. Poor sleep habits can lead to mood fluctuations, issues with memory, difficulty concentrating, weakened immunity, higher risk of heart disease, and so much more.

So if you aren’t getting enough hours of sleep, use one of these sleep tracker pages to hopefully find a pattern that will give you enough information to make some changes to your lifestyle to increase the amount of good quality sleep you are getting each night.

What is the point of using a Sleep Tracker Printable?

Sleep trackers can help you determine your sleep patterns, if you are getting enough sleep, how it affects your energy levels, and more. It’s a visual tool that will show you the bigger picture on the amount of sleep you are getting overall.

If you track both your sleep and your moods (with something like this mood tracker), you can truly see if there is a correlation between your sleep behavior and your moods.

Sleep Trackers are Great Data to Show Doctors and Therapists

You can get a lot of data from all habit trackers. If you are seeing a doctor about the quality of your sleep or your lack of sleep, these trackers are the perfect data to show to a doctor who may be able to help you discover patterns in your sleep patterns.

If you are seeing a therapist and have concerns over your sleep deprivation or getting too much sleep and how it is affecting your mental and emotional health, then this sleep log template will help show your therapist any patterns (especially when you pair it with other mood or habit trackers).

Be Truthful in your Data

Not being truthful when you record the amount of sleep you got each night is only going to hurt you. This is your own sleep tracker so make sure to fill in correctly just for you.

What Do the Printable Sleep Tracker Templates Look Like?

You get two different options included in this set of sleep trackers.

How Do you Use Each Sleep Trackers?

This is how you fill in each type of tracker. You’ll see each tracker in use to get a better understanding of what they look like in use.

Option 1: Monthly Sleep Log

The first option is a monthly sleep tracker. Included is one for every month of the year and it includes a version for February during a leap year. You will track the amount of sleep hours you get each night for the whole month.

You numbers on the left side of the page represent the day of of the month. The numbers at the top represent the number of total sleep time in hours. You will color in each line to show the number of hours you slept each night.

Directly next to the hours is a column to fill in a rating for the quality of sleep. Just because you got 8 hours doesn’t always mean you had a great solid 8 hours.

You will color it in based on the key you create on the right side of the page.

The final product at the end of the month will look like a bar graph. You will be able to get a good idea on our sleep routine for the month.

Option 2: Yearly Sleep Log

This long will help you track your sleep all year long. A yearly sleep tracker will show you patterns based on time of the month, time of the year, days of the week, etc. While the monthly tracker is great at focusing on more of a weekly sleep log, the yearly is a good way to really get a birds eye view of your sleep troubles.

Here is how to use the yearly sleep tracker.

On the left side, you will see the numbers 1-31. These represent the days of the month.

At the top, you have the months of the year. You will fill in the day of each month within the column for that month. If the month doesn’t have the day (such as day 31), you can either leave it blank or fill it in black. I didn’t pre-fill it in, just in case someone wanted to use black or another dark color on their chart.

When you fill in each day, you will fill it in based on the color from your key on the right side. You will use a different color for each of the hours of sleep.

Sleep Trackers Aren’t Just for People with Poor Sleep Habits

Sleep trackers can be used by people who are curious about their sleep patterns or are even worried about getting too much sleep. Getting too much sleep is a sleep problem just like not getting enough sleep is.

Sleeping too much or too often can mean that you have a physical health or even a mental health concern. These trackers can really help you determine if your overall sleep health is good or bad.

Setting New Year’s Resolutions or Sleep Goal

Maybe you want to make sure that you are getting a good night’s sleep each night or maybe you’ve been sleeping in too much lately and you want to set a goal to live a healthy lifestyle that includes getting good sleep.

These trackers can help you with meeting your goals. If you are consistent with tracking your sleep each day, you will be more likely to meet your sleep goals.
