When Should I Use this Mouse Elf Set Up?
Use it anytime during the holiday season. But, I think there are a few times it would be even extra special.
- Announcing a Disney World or Disneyland trip
- For the day you come back from a Disney World or Disneyland trip
- For while you’re gone on a Disney World or Disneyland trip (if you leave someone else in charge of taking photos/sending them to your kids)
- For a Disney themed night (grab a Disney movie (maybe Mickey’s Christmas Carol), some Mickey Ice Cream from the store, and some other goodies to create a Disney night at home)
Is this Set for Girl Elves or Boy Elves?
It can be used with any elf – it does not matter. But the set does come with a more typical boy set and a more typical girl set. You can use whatever pieces that work for your elves.
How Do I Make the Free Printables?
- Print out the printables you want.
- Cut out the printables.
- To put the shirt and hats on, you will fold the tabs over to behind the head or body and tape the two pieces together. You can use glue but I prefer tape so it doesn’t get on the elf. Trim any extra bit of the strips that are sticking out.
- Attach the food with double stick tape OR depending on your elf, you can have them holding the food.
This image shows what the hat looks like when you attach it on the back. Just trim off the extra black strips that are overhanging past the elf’s head.
Are your elf’s hands still sewn together? Don’t worry, this shirt was created with that in mind. Simply slide the shirt under the arms and then tape the top and bottom tabs on the back. .
This is what the outfit looks like from behind when it is all taped on and the extra tabs have been trimmed.
Can I Use a Cricut or Silhouette?
Yes! You can use either machine to Print and Cut the free Elf on the Shelf mouse printables. A Cricut Maker, Silhouette Cameo, Cricut Explore, or even a Silhouette Portrait are all compatible. The Cricut Joy is too small.
Important Tip for Using a Cricut
When using a Cricut machine, the images will be resized when you import them into Design Space. But that’s no problem!
Just resize the images to the following sizes:
Girl Ears Set – Resize to: 6.52 wide x 4.17 tall
Boy Ears Set – Resize to: 6.95 wide x 4.14 tall
Using a Larger or Smaller Elf?
The shirts may be a bit hard to get to fit right because they are designed for a traditional Elf on the Shelf body. BUT, you can print them at a larger or smaller size to see if you can get them to fit on your elf.
This really works with the hats and snacks – they can be resized and fit more easily.
