Setting financial goals is an important step to financial freedom. Whether you are looking to save money for a dream vacation, college fund, an emergency fund, or just to put as much money into your bank account as you can.

The first step in creating strong financial habits is to get an understanding of your monthly expenses. But sometimes, using a monthly tracker can be a bit overwhelming. If you prefer to break things down into a smaller span of time, then weekly trackers are a great way to keep track of your money.

Even though you’re using weekly trackers, you will still keep track of all of your monthly bills – you’ll just track them by which week you pay the bill. At the end of the month, you’ll be able to review the free printable expense tracker template pages to see what type of progress you’re making toward your financial goals.

What Do the Free Weekly Expense Tracker Printables Look Like?

The trackers have a very simple design. They are easy to use and will easily match numerous styles of planners.

The first sheet you get is a weekly spending tracker. On this page, you will keep track of everything you purchase daily in a given week. At the end of the week, it has an area for you to add up the total cost for the week.

Then you have the daily spending log. This is where you will track what you spend each day of the week (at least the most important things, you may use a general name like Target run). This comes in both a Monday Start and a Sunday start.

Next, you will have the weekly bill tracker. This is where you will fill out each bill you paid in the week.

Lastly, you have the weekly budget tracker. This is where you will keep track of your proposed budget for the week and the actual amount spent. This will help you determine if you still have enough money left in your weekly to buy some extra things as needed.

Look for Patterns in Your Weekly Spending

Once you have a few months of tracking sheets or even an entire year of expense sheets, you can take an in-depth look at your overall spending habits. The sheets will become an essential tool for saving even more money.

Maybe you realize certain weeks of the month, you spend more on coffee or you’ve had a long run of spending way too much on what was supposed to be quick shopping trips to Target or maybe you don’t have enough room in your current budget to put money into a college fund.

Or maybe you’ve been paying for a membership to somewhere you no longer visit. No matter what spending patterns you find, they will be helpful (good or bad) to reaching your savings goals.

Great for Small Businesses Owners

These trackers are great for small businesses to track their business expenses. It’s common to have many weekly bills for small businesses and these are a good way to keep track of your financial situation. These expense tracker templates will be especially helpful when you need to complete your tax return.

What File Types are Included?

You will get 3 file types included.

  • PDF file
  • JPG file
  • transparent PNG file (for digital planners)

What Size are the Weekly Expense Trackers?

They come in both a letter size page and a Classic Happy Planner size page. Both styles come in a portrait layout on a single page.

Need a Different Size?

If you are looking to resize your planner printables, no problem. If you need a half-letter size, just print 2 pages per page or print at 50%.

If you’d like to resize the free expense tracker to a more unique size, read my post on how to resize planner printables for any size planner.

Are you a Pen & Paper Person?

If you are a paper planner, you’ll want to download the PDFs or JPG images. You can print them to insert into a planner or as a stand-alone printable.

Are you a Digital Planner Person?

We’ve got you covered, too! I suggest using the PNGs from the digital files. These transparent files can be pasted into any Digital Planner. The PDF file can also be used but they are not interactive. The best app for me to use for Digital Planning is Goodnotes.

What is the Best Paper to Use for the Expense Trackers?

I suggest printing the free trackers on a sturdier paper such as 32 lb paper, like this one from Amazon. You can use standard printer paper as well, but the thicker paper keeps pens and markers from bleeding through to the back.

Can I Print the Pages Elsewhere?

Yes! You can send the free printables of your choice to a local print shop to print it if needed. The only additional cost you’ll have are from the printers directly.
