Free Easter Egg Hunt Token SVG Files for Laser & Cricut

Make your Easter egg hunt the best one yet with this free set of Easter egg hunt token files. Candy is what kids expect to find on Easter Sunday when they crack open a plastic egg; surprise them with these fun Easter egg tokens instead.

Holidays with kids mean an overabundance of candy, especially at Easter. Between the treats the Easter bunny fills the Easter basket with and the treats from Grandma and Grandpa, kids are bombarded with excessive treats. While the Easter egg hunt is a fun activity and tradition, it means even more candy.

Sometimes, it is nice to give an alternative to the candy. Plus, in all honesty, I find my kids get more excited for the non-candy Easter trinkets they find in the plastic Easter eggs anyway. Easter egg tokens just amp up the prizes even further! I love watching them on Easter mornings popping all of their eggs open excited to see what is inside.

Easter egg tokens are perfect for any age group – older kids or younger kids. You could even make a set for teens or adults – hosting a teen or adults-only Easter egg is so much fun (why shouldn’t they get to have some Easter hunt fun?)

Mix it Up!

I like to stuff eggs with a variety of fillers – candy, Easter egg tokens, small necessities, and small toys so that kids get a bigger variety in their Easter eggs.

Finding a candy alternative to place in Easter eggs can be difficult. See my full list of candy alternatives for Easter egg hunts for over 100 different ideas for kids or over 100 Easter egg filler ideas for teens and adults. There are so many more ideas than just cheap little toys and dollar bills.

What Tools Do You Need to Make the Easter Egg Tokens?

You can use a laser machine or a craft-cutting machine that can handle thin wood. For my project, I used an xTool P2 laser machine. My directions below are based on a laser.

While I could have used my Cricut Maker, using my xTool P2 is much faster (I could have used my xTool M1 as well). Plus, I find the end product is more finished-looking with a laser machine.

Can I Use Paper Instead of Wood?

Yes! I have included a print and cut version of the Free Easter Egg tokens in case you want to use the print and cut feature of your cutting machine or just cut them by hand.

Size Does Matter When it Comes to Plastic Eggs

Make sure to measure your eggs before you laser your project. I have plastic eggs in all sizes and egg colors and there is a huge variance in size. Make sure to measure the inside of your eggs and change the size of the file in your laser program before you begin lasering. And if you’re going to be using both big and small plastic eggs, use the small egg measurement to make sure they fit in all of your eggs.

What File Formats Are Included?

You’ll get multiple file types included. They are:

  • SVG files
  • xTool Creative Space file
  • Transparent PNG
  • Silhouette Studio files

What Programs Can You Use with the Files?

You can use any program that supports SVG files. This includes, but is not limited to, design software such as xTool Creative Space, Cricut Design Space, Silhouette Studio, Adobe Illustrator, and more.

For my Silhouette users, I have included a free Silhouette file. You won’t need the Silhouette Designer edition; the basic version of Silhouette Studio will work with the Silhouette Studio design files.

Cricut Design Space users should use the SVG file for best results. While the PNG will work, the easiest way is to use the SVG files.

Print and cut users should use the print and cut version because the lines are black in the PNG and set to transparent in the SVG and Silhouette versions.
