Elf Warning Letter Free Printable

This Elf warning letter free printable is perfect for naughty kids that may need a reminder to make better choices. It looks like it comes directly from Santa Claus up in the North Pole.

Children will think that they’re getting an official warning directly from Santa himself. It’s like getting a report card or behavior report for how they have been acting lately.

Plus – there is a big bonus in giving your child this bad behavior letter (if they really deserve it of course). It’s also such an easy elf set up that will take you no time at all. Simply fill it in and print it.

Christmas time is full of not only Christmas fun but also Christmas stress. It can lead to additional behaviors and difficulties. The Elf on the Shelf can help with that by providing a warning for the child about their recent behavior.

Use the Warning Letter Sparingly

I don’t suggest that you regularly use this letter. All children make mistakes and get extra crazy during this time of year – we all can have a bad day. They should be used for a child that needs a little reminder to try to be on their best behavior.

In addition, naughty list warnings shouldn’t come too often or children will begin to grow angry toward their little elf. And definitely don’t wait until Christmas Eve – you’ll want to make sure they have time to change their behavior otherwise the letter is an empty warning. The best time to give it would be at a point where they still have plenty of time to change their behavior.

Customize the Naughty List Warning Letter for your Child and their Scout Elf

On the lefthand side, you can customize the basic information in the warning – it’s like an official Elf report card. You will enter the child’s name, elf’s name, date, and check off the reason for the warning letter.

To the right of the report from Santa, you can write a custom letter from Santa. This is my personal favorite portion of the free printable letters – you can write a little note detailing why they are receiving the warning. You explain their naughty behavior and warn them that they are possibly going to be placed on Santa’s naughty list.

Then, you can give them a gentle reminder about how they can remain on Santa’s nice list (do some good deeds, listen to the rules, behaving in school, not fighting with their siblings, etc).

Remind your Child that the Elves are Watching

Sometimes kids forget that the purpose of their elf isn’t just seeing their new awesome Elf on the Shelf shenanigans each day. Their primary elf duty is to watch over the child and report to Santa each night about the child’s behavior. You can use this printable like a free elf surveillance warning letter. You can remind them that the elves are always watching and reporting.

Want to Give a Warning but Don’t Want to Write a Naughty Letter?

Even though there is a space to write a personalized letter to your child about their behavior from Santa, you can cut off the custom letter section. Instead, you could just give the left side of the paper as a warning.

This is what it would look like.
